Issues in Secondary Assessment: Challenges and Possibilities
This workshop addresses issues in assessment, evaluation, and grading practices in secondary schools, e.g., the balance of formative and summative assessment, the use of zero as a mark, marks deductions for late work and other work habit issues, grading group work, averaging marks across the semester/year, etc.

The Surrey Teachers' Association has been in existence since 1941 and is a union of professionals representing approximately 5000 public school teachers in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. All public school teachers in Surrey belong to the BCTF (British Columbia Teachers’ Federation) and their local teachers’ association.
